More things I like that I want you to like: NPR is streaming the full hour of the White Stripes’ soundtrack to their documentary about their trampings around Canada, “Under Great White Northern Lights.” It is pretty heavy and awesome and reminds me of being 14 and being really into songs like “Ball & Biscuit” and “The Hardest Button to Button” in summertime in Asheville.

And finally: here are some photos I took up in Montmartre today after I made the first payment on the apartment I’ll be renting for June on Rue Lepic. It’s prime Amelie Poulain stomping grounds and all cobblestone-streets-rooftop-views-thighs-are-killing-you-hills-elevator-in-the-metro-station-18e-arrondissement glory. The photos are actually of none of those things, but rather of little trinkets I came across in a tiny shop that looks like the setting for those awesome I Spy books I hope you had as a child.
